Partnerships for Conservation

Conservation and environmental organizations face common challenges in their efforts to minimize the impacts of human activities on wildlife populations. The development of collaborative research and working relationships with other environmental groups, agencies and individuals working toward the conservation of loons and their habitats is vital to the accomplishment of the Loon Preservation Committee’s mission.

LPC contributes data to the New Hampshire Natural Heritage Inventory, and consults with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services on proposed shoreline developments. We also share our findings and expertise through our partnerships with universities, veterinary colleges, non-profit environmental organizations, and federal agencies including the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Throughout its history, LPC has benefitted tremendously from its associations with the Americorps program, the American Association of Retired Persons, the Student Conservation Association, the Moultonborough Academy Service Learning Project, and many other organizations and programs.
