About the Speaker
Dr. Mark Pokras is an emeritus professor at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. In addition to his other extensive wildlife work, Mark has conducted research on common loon mortality since 1987 and is widely known for his work regarding lead poisoning in loons. He regularly consults with LPC, as well as with several other organizations across North America, on loon necropsies, treatment plans for injured loons, and other projects concerning loon health.
