Summer Nature Talk Series – Common Loons: Past, Present, and Future

July 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Today we consider that common loons embody everything in nature that is wild, free, and beautiful. People did not always feel this way. In this presentation, Dr. Mark Pokras will discuss the history of human/loon interactions, scientific research, the origins of the modern loon conservation movement, current loon population trends and research, and challenges loons will face in the future.
